Pennsylvania Distillers Making American Single Malt Whiskeys
At the end of 2024, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) issued its long-awaited definition of American Single Malt Whiskey.
These new standards of identity help provide clarity to distilleries in Pennsylvania who are already producing whiskys made from malted barley and may also help Pennsylvania-based malt houses, two of whom are already working with Pennsylvania distilleries to better cross-market the whiskys made with local malt.
Pennsylvania distillers have already been making Single Malt whiskeys and customers can buy them today.
