Today is the day! We are finally releasing our Sonny’s Cut 5 Grain Farmers Whiskey. This whiskey is named after our other dad who left us in 1999. Sonny was a butcher by trade and we had Hereford Cows growing up. My dad was not too keen on having a black angus bull around all of us kids because he knew the antics we would pull. Such as handing our friends an empty bucket and telling them we bet they cant run to the other end of the fence line. There were a lot of times yelling DROP THE BUCKET as the cows were on the heels of who ever had the bucket. If you remember the great Mowry’s Meat Processing, he was there over 20 years and that place is sorely missed by us all. So many wonderful memories there growing up! Thankfully you can still buy their meats from their home raised products. This whiskey is also special because of the high grain mash bill. It is not a cheap mash to make. We have all malted grains of Bloody Butcher Red Corn, Barley, Oates, Rye and Wheat in this whiskey and then barrel age. The whiskey comes off as a smooth yet sweeter tasting whiskey with smoked oak and spice and a vanilla buttery flavor, finishing with a little black pepper.
